Well, what a year 2006 was and let us first say a very prosperous and Happy New Year to all of our regular visitors and welcome to all the new visitors in 2007 from all of us at toastabags.
2006 was certainly a good year for toastabags and by now many of you will have spotted us in the toaster section in Kmart. If not please ask the friendly staff. We are very happy to be supplying Kmart across Australia and New Zealand with both the Original 300 use and the Gold 100 use toastabags because it certainly makes it a lot easier for you and your family and friends to access these great products. You should also very soon see our BBQ liner in the Kmart BBQ section at a price that's sure to please. Once again this is a multi use item that will make BBQs a lot easier to keep clean, fat free and safe. We are also trialing all of the products in selected Retravision stores so look for them there, not forgetting of course your local Mitre 10 store whose manager will be happy to get toastabags in for you if they have run out.
We had great fun at the Brisbane Food and Wine show with not only the majority of the visitors but most of the exhibitors going home with toastabags to start experimenting with new and trying the recipes from the pack and from our site.
We look forward to seeing what the Sydney and Melbourne Food and Wine shows have to offer and hope to see you there, it's a great day. Hopefully we will come back with more new recipes for you to try. We were very pleased to see a Rabbi take the original product home from the show - he says it will allow him to cook on public BBQs for the first time without fear of contamination from previous 'cooks'. He was quite excited about the prospect of enjoying a social event with his non-Jewish friends whilst remaining true to his kosher doctrines. We cooked over a 1000-toasted sandwiches, it felt as though we in fact fed the 5000! A great time was had by all that weekend.
Hospitals have started to adopt the toastabags products simply because they allow the kitchens to cater to the individual needs of the patients, be that dietary or religious, and they tell us a great deal of time will be saved now that the need to scrub between individual meal preparations is eliminated. From now on each special requirement will be prepared and cooked either in a toastabag or on the BBQ sheet, again to avoid cross contamination.
We also enjoyed many happy hours with the residents of retirement villages many of whose residents suffer from the effects of arthritis and Parkinson's. Toastabags will return a little more independence to their lives by virtue of its simplicity and ease of use. We have lots more demo days lined up for this year so next time you visit mum or dad they may well offer to 'cook' you a snack or sandwich in their newly acquired toastabags!
A number of the Australian Coeliacs Societies have readily adopted toastabags for its ability to isolate their own food and to enable families where only one member suffers the symptoms to return to a normal menu because, once again, the food is kept separate and away from harmful ingredients found in everyday foods that can potentially make the life of a coeliac miserable. Coeliacs across the World are benefiting from the toastabags arriving in their kitchens.
Have you eaten a meat pie from your toastabag yet? Yummy!
There is a lot more happening with toastabags in 2007 and we will be sure to keep you up to date. In the meantime, keep well and keep toasting, and be sure to keep your toastabags in your toaster at all times to keep little fingers and forks out!
Judy / Jan
P.S.: Have you told your friends about toastabags yet?

HOT TIP! Keep your toastabag in the toaster all the time and let it, not mum, take care of the crumbs - more importantly, stop the temptation to stick a fork or anything else in the toaster to free a piece of food. toastabag, your friend in the toaster.
