Toastabag Technology - It Simply Works!

Dermatitis Herpetiformis

What is it?
Dermatitis Herpetiformis is due to gluten sensitivity. It is a very itchy skin rash which usually occurs on the elbows, buttocks and knees. The rash consists of red raised patches and small blisters.
Dermatitis Herpetiformis is not a common skin disease.
In patients with dermatitis herpetiformis the gluten sensitivity may also affect the small intestine as well as the skin, giving rise to Coeliac disease. There are occasionally more serious conditions which can develop and it is strict adherence to the diet that is helpful in preventing complications.

What is the treatment?
The best treatment is a gluten-free diet. Not only does this cure the rash, but also treats the mild Coeliac disease and, therefore, heals both the skin and the intestine.

How can we help?
As with Coeliac sufferers, Toastabags can be invaluable to patients with Dermatitis Herpetiformis when away from home, giving them the ability to make toasted sandwiches and other snacks in a standard toaster without the fear of cross contamination.

HOT TIP! Keep your toastabag in the toaster all the time and it will take care of the mess while saving you time - and more importantly stop the risk of cross-contamination with glutenenous food. The food will simply be contained in the toastabag!
